Maxeon Solar Technologies announced a collaboration with Samsung to integrate its SunPower One ecosystem with clean energy products and services Samsung’s SmartThingsan open smart home platform that enables homeowners to monitor, regulate and automate their connected devices in and around their home.

Both parties have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and prepared the initial plan for the integration. Data on clean energy production and system status of relevant Maxeon residential energy products, including Maxeon and Performance series solar panels and SunPower Reserve battery storage solution, is fed into the SmartThings Energy dashboard in the SmartThings app. This integration offers homeowners a comprehensive visualization of their energy consumption as well as excellent control options.

Homeowners can do that Use excess solar energy generated by Maxeon’s solar panels and solar system trigger a specific configuration on the platform that preheats specific rooms in the home via a Samsung heat pump, encouraging self-consumption of renewable energy and saving electricity.
