Enteligent, a developer of solar power optimization and solar charging technologies for electric vehicles, raised $7 million to accelerate the commercialization of its proprietary solar optimization platform and bi-directional DC-to-DC solar hybrid electric vehicle charger.

Through the use of its proprietary solar optimization technology, Enteligent believes it will be able to transform the way customers produce and work with solar energy. Not only does the technology provide intelligent module-level monitoring to maintain maximum solar production, but its quick shutdown capability ensures that local delivery and use of electricity is both fast and safe. This optimization technology can increase energy yield by up to 13%.

Most electric vehicles today are charged overnight using a traditional power grid. The rapid increase in EV adoption is straining the power grid’s ability to meet exponentially growing energy demands. Enteligent’s proprietary solar EV chargers accelerate the shift to solar-based daytime charging by drawing DC power directly from solar and solar power Eliminate unnecessary DC-to-AC-to-DC conversionsreportedly leading to energy savings of up to 25% caused by the conversions.

Like the principle of residential grid-tied solar systems, Enteligent’s solar EV chargers can be powered at the same time from the AC mains to meet charging needs and provide peace of mind charging continuity while reducing overall charging time and costs.

This financing included investments from several strategic investors including NOVA, the venture arm of Saint-Gobain, one of the world’s largest building materials companies, and Taronga Ventures, one of the world’s leading real asset technology investors, as well as other strategic investors.

“Enteligent’s DC-input EV charger provides a significant change in the energy efficiency and price level of EV fast chargers, which is needed to accelerate the adoption of clean energy in commercial facilities,” said Avi Naidu, Managing Partner at Taronga Ventures.

“Our vision is to provide technology that solves the near-term electrification challenges arising from the EV revolution – ubiquitous daytime charging of electric vehicles, wherever you park, with efficient use of clean, on-site generated solar power ‘ commented Sean Burke, Founder and CEO of Enteligent.
