The Chinese PV sector has achieved two technical breakthroughs for applications with extreme environment, whereby Trina Solar and yes underlining solar decorations of field data and new products that underline the durability of Chinese modules under conditions for moisture and desert/gobi-Wasteland. Trina Solar reported on the year -round result of moisture pensions for its TopCon 700W+ vertex module in Wenchang, Hainan, a tropical maritime traffic point that is characterized by high temperature and humidity, 1,975 mm annual precipitation and about 86% relative humidity. On the technological side, the module uses an updated I-TopCON cell design that optimizes metallization in corrosion-prone electrode areas and refines the pastry to increase the anti-corrosion performance. It is also used with low corrosiveness connection materials, a capsus with a high water-steam barrier and a dual-glass building to suppress moisture insertion.

These innovations enable superior stability in extreme moisture climate and were well received by end customers.

Meanwhile in Beijing, Yes solar Unveiled Molan (literally “desert blue”), when the world’s first module was charged, which was specially developed for deserts, Gobi and Karge Land (Sha-Ge-Huang). Molan was developed to tackle dust pollution, abrasive sand and strong wind loads, and introduces four targeted progress:

The field results from the Mengneng Ulan Buh project show an increase in energy yield by 4.49% after switching to Molan, while a 100 MW system can save around 240,000 RMB per year at manual cleaning costs.

The product has received the world’s first “desert module” certification from TÜV Rheinland, which shows a strong performance with dust cover and extreme temperature voltage tests.

Industry experts find that these scenarios-specific designs represent a shift in the PV technology of China from general products to refined, application-oriented solutions.

Since the framework conditions for extreme climate validation frames mature, modules manufactured in China are ready to strengthen their competitiveness in global use cases and to support the energy transfer robustly.
