Solar tracker company Nevados Engineering signed a strategic partnership and long-term contract with solar project developer Ampliform to supply its integrated technology platform of all-terrain solar trackers and energy optimization software. As part of the partnership, Nevados will deploy its solutions for each site in Ampliform’s short-term project pipeline of 700 MW for construction 2023-2025 and in Ampliform’s longer-term pipeline of 2 GW under development.

Nevados’ solar tracking solutions can eliminate site planning in projects with uneven terrain, helping to reduce the time and cost of permitting, construction, and replanting steps and significantly accelerating project schedules. Using proprietary bearings, the solutions offer great flexibility by allowing installation on slopes of up to 37% with slope changes of up to 26% over a foundation. In addition, their row-specific tracking algorithms, controls, and slope schedules contribute to higher energy yields. Their ease of installation and excellent resistance to extreme weather conditions such as gale force winds also strengthen their competitiveness in the market.
“We chose Nevados because their all-terrain solar tracker eliminates the need for costly, risky and destructive mass classification for each site in our portfolio,” commented Robert Stoever, Ampliform’s senior vice president, EPC.
“Partnering with Nevados will make our solar investments more profitable while preserving the country’s natural vegetation and topography. It’s a win for our company and for the planet,” added Stoever.
In the first phase, Nevados will supply 48 MW all-terrain trackers for two Ampliform projects under construction in Pennsylvania, coupled with full-service project management, design optimization, technical support and performance optimization.
Nevados will showcase its solutions at Intersolar North America, taking place February 14-16 in Long Beach, California.
