Wienerberger UK and Ireland is pleased to launch Sandtoft in-roof Solar, a brand new solar roof tile that offers home builders a seamlessly integrated source of solar energy, helping them meet the demands of recent Part L legislation and future-proof new homes for the Future Homes Standard 2025.
In a significant step for the manufacturer, the new Sandtoft in-roof solar product builds on Wienerberger’s existing portfolio of concrete and clay tiles. When offered in conjunction with the company’s range of brick, block and cladding systems, Wienerberger is uniquely positioned to offer total building envelope solutions through fabric and technology options, a combination of which help home builders meet their energy efficiency and energy efficiency goals achieve CO2 reduction.

Sandtoft in-roof solar is supplied through a partnership with Oxford-based Westech Solar, a progressive renewable technology company. The panels integrated in the roof are applied directly to the roof battens an interlocking design to speed up the installation process. The single lapped panels have also been developed to reflect the aesthetics of a traditional tiled roof and are fully compatible with all clay and concrete tiles. In addition, when used in combination with Sandtoft roof tiles and accessories, customers benefit from a 15-year system warranty through our RoofSpec design and specification service.
The product will be available from February 2023 through major retailers and directly to Wienerberger homebuilders in the UK and Ireland.
