California-based developer of solar optimization and EV solar charging technologies, Enteligent, recently launched its NMax Rapid Shutdown (RSD) ecosystem with optimization. Last month, the company Raised $7 million to accelerate the commercialization of its proprietary solar optimization platform and bi-directional DC-to-DC solar hybrid charger for electric vehicles.

Enteligent reports that two leading vendors currently command over 80% of the market share in module-level energy optimization and rooftop solar monitoring in North America.
Entelgent’s NMax solution consists of fast shutdown function, power optimization and panel-level performance data via Powerline Communication (PLC). It’s an all-in-one solution that offers new options for solar installers who want to stand out from the big regional and national retailers. It also helps homeowners get a better return on their solar investment by maximizing their solar output while keeping costs down.
Performance optimization allows each panel to run at its highest performance all the time. This feature greatly overcomes an inherent error of PV string installations when one or more of the connected solar panels produces too little, whether due to shading, pollution, snow or different panel orientation, the performance of all solar panels will be reduced.
The module-level monitoring feature provides solar production statistics for individual modules. This monitoring allows installers to verify that panels are working properly, helps service providers diagnose and fix module problems, and gives homeowners peace of mind by making monitoring easier.
Through its proprietary technology, Enteligent delivers a systems-level approach to solar energy optimization that enables real-time monitoring, immediate response, and on-demand optimization. The company reports that all of these features contribute to a 10% increase into electricity generated by a typical rooftop solar array.
The Enteligent NMax series products will be available in the next quarter.
