Nextracker announced it has signed an agreement with India-based Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Limited (SWRE) to supply its solar tracking solutions to NTPC Renewable Energy Limited 1.568GWdc (1.255GWac) Solar PV project at Khavda RE Park, Gujarat, which is expected to be operational in the first half of 2024.

Under the terms of the agreement, SWRE will adopt Nextracker’s optimized bifacial solar tracker solutions in combination with bifacial PV modules for NTPC REL’s project to achieve higher energy harvest.

Besides the technology, most of the components are made from steel supplied from local factories in Gujarat.

To date, the company has reached an annual production capacity of 5GW in India and operates 25 solar and renewable energy projects nationwide, contributing to the country’s decarbonization goals and major programs such as the National Solar Energy Mission inaugurated in 2020.

Nextracker is a provider of intelligent solar trackers and software solutions for large-scale and distributed solar projects that has shipped over 70GW worldwide. The Khavda project expands the Company’s gigawatt portfolio in India.

Last year, The company has been selected as a provider of intelligent solar trackers for phase one of the 450 MW solar plant Sudair Solar, one of the largest solar plants in Saudi Arabia.
