Arctech, a leading provider of solar tracking and racking solutions, will deliver 11.5MW of its SkyLine II single-axis solar tracking system to a solar project in Israel. It is Arctech’s first solar tracking project in the country and marks another milestone for the company in the Middle East market.

Research data provided by the Company shows that Israel has abundant solar radiation resources with a total annual value of approximately 2,400 kWh/m² (8,640 MJ/m²) and a technical usage amount of 318 TWh. The government has set a target for renewable energy 30% by 2030largely realized by solar power plants and storage facilities.

Besides Israel, other Middle Eastern countries also have rich solar resources. For example, the UAE has an annual solar radiation of 2,200 kWh/m² (7,920 MJ/m²) with a technical amount of 2,708 TWh; while in Jordan the total annual value is about 2,700 kWh/m² (9,720 MJ/m²) and the technical amount is 6,434 TWh.

According to the Middle East Solar Industry Association (MESIA), the photovoltaic market in the MENA region is worthwhile around 20 billion US dollars currently. A Global Energy Monitor report shows that by 2030, about 50 GW of utility-scale solar power will be added to the MENA region.

Arctech’s solar tracking solutions have already contributed to several notable projects in the Middle East, including the 607 MW IBRI II project in Oman and the 2.1 GW PV2 Al Dhafra project in Abu Dhabi. The company established offices in the region to deepen localization and partnered with global original OEMs to improve diversification of its global supply chain and ensure on-time delivery.

Prior to this Israeli project, Arctech’s SkyLine II series tracking solution had gained recognition in the North American market through a supply agreement approx. 365.8 MW for the solar park Puerto Penasco in Mexico, which when completed will be the largest solar power plant in the country.
